125 yards to a green sitting on top of a natural pavement of hexagons. The rock here is basalt, cooled and cracked into thousands of tightly packed six sided columns, and they step down into the sea in tiers like a staircase somebody built and then abandoned. The green is laid across the flat tops of one raised block of them, with a single bunker and mown grass ending exactly where the hexagons do. It looks manufactured and it is entirely natural, which is why nobody who sees it quite believes it. The golf is straightforward and the geometry is not. The lower tiers are wet and washed over with every swell, so anything short does not bounce, it disappears between the columns. There is no run up and no forgiving apron, because the edge of the green is the edge of the rock. A simple iron handrail fixed into the stone is the only way up from the lower tier to the back of the green. Take enough club to be pin high or past, because past is grass and short is a hole in the pavement, and aim at the middle where the block is widest.
This hole is not real. Like every hole in the collection it was conjured with AI, a golf daydream rather than a course you can go and play. The thousands of courses in the Golf Handicapp app, however, are very real.
