Imagined holes

The short answer

None of these holes exist. We conjured them with AI, the golf daydreams you have standing on the range and will never actually play. It is a collection we will keep adding to. The real data lives elsewhere on the blog. This one is purely for fun.

Every golfer has a mental highlight reel of holes that could never be built, greens on the edge of cliffs, carries over things that should not be carried, settings too dramatic to be real. So we built a few. None are real courses, and we would never claim otherwise, but each one is the kind of hole you would give a limb to stand on for ninety seconds. Here is the first set, with more to come.

Redrock Canyon

Par 3 · 176 yards

A green stranded on a sandstone plateau, floating above a canyon that turns molten gold at sunset. No bail-out, no lay-up, no forgiveness. Hit the plateau, or start the long walk down.

Timanfaya GC, Hole 8

Par 3 · 158 yards

158 yards, dead over a river of lava, with an erupting volcano for a backdrop. The only water hazard on earth that is hotter than your temper after a three-putt. Named, naturally, for Lanzarote's fire mountains.

Blackpine GC, Hole 12

Par 3 · 238 yards

A 238-yard par 3 down a corridor so tight the pines almost touch overhead. There is exactly one shot: dead straight and low. Anything else finds timber, and timber does not give it back.

Cypress Point AI, Hole 16

Par 3 · 231 yards

The AI's love letter to the most photographed par 3 in golf. 231 yards across open ocean to a green clinging to the rocks. Carry the Pacific, or take the coward's route down the left. Everyone takes a photo either way.

Alpsee AI, the island greens

Par 3 · 148 yards

Two island greens on glass water beneath the Alps, reached by rowboat rather than buggy. Miss, and you are not chipping, you are swimming. Possibly the most serene place in golf to lose a sleeve of balls.

The Hope Crossing, Hole 16

Par 3 · 110 yards

Only 110 yards, but every one of them is straight up in the sky. The green sits on the lip of a cliff, above a valley stuffed with cloud and framed by snow peaks. Short club, steady nerves. Miss it and your ball is in the next valley.

These ones are make-believe. The thousands of courses in the app are not.

Common questions

Are these real golf courses?+

No. Every hole on this page is AI-generated and completely imaginary. There is no Timanfaya Golf Club, no Blackpine, no canyon green you can go and play. They are golf daydreams we made for fun, not real courses, and we would never pretend otherwise.

Can I play any of these holes?+

Sadly not. But the app is full of thousands of real courses you can play, track and compete on. If you want the real thing, that is where to go.
