127 yards, and there is nowhere to miss it. Look at what surrounds the green. Deep bunkers are cut into the mounding on both sides, with grass lips steep enough that you will be coming out sideways rather than at the flag. Behind, a dark hollow runs the full width of the green at the foot of an enormous bank of rough, shaggy grass. That bank is not a backstop. Nothing that pitches into it is coming back to you: it either hangs up in the rough on the face or trickles down into the hollow, and from there you are playing back up to a putting surface that runs away from you and cannot be stopped. Which leaves short, and short is the answer. On a hole with trouble long and trouble both sides, the front of the green is the only place a mediocre shot survives, and the fairway in front is mown tight and clean so a ball landing on it runs on rather than stopping dead. So play the yardage to the front half and let it release. The mistake is looking at a wedge in your hand and deciding to attack a flag with sand either side of it and a hollow behind it. There is a small stream across the fairway as well, though on a 127 yard hole that is scenery rather than a hazard. Mostly, get on with it. The light here is the sun arriving ahead of the weather, and it does not stay long.
