110 yards. A three quarter wedge, the sort of shot you would hit off a range mat without a second thought, and every difficult thing about this hole is the ground it sits in rather than the distance. The green is on a natural shelf partway down a limestone gorge, with the cliff carrying on straight up above it and a few hundred feet of rock falling away below it to a wooded valley floor with a river winding through. There is a bunker at the front and a low stone parapet along the path side, and beyond that there is no ground at all. No rough to hack out of, no bank to feed a ball back down, nothing to take a drop from. The path traverses in from the left on a cut shelf, so you can get there, it just takes a while. What ruins people here is the instinct to help a short club into the air. You feel the exposure, you hang back through impact trying to lift it, and that is exactly what produces the fat one that never reaches. The loft is already in the club. Stay forward, hit down on it, and let it climb on its own. Take the club the number says, aim at the middle, and do not walk over and look down first.

This hole is not real. Like every hole in the collection it was conjured with AI, a golf daydream rather than a course you can go and play. The thousands of courses in the Golf Handicapp app, however, are very real.

This one is make-believe. The thousands of courses in the app are not.
