155 yards along a sand spit that the sea has broken straight through. Ocean on your left, lagoon on your right, and part way down the hole the whole Atlantic is pouring across in front of you through a gap fifty yards wide, running from the surf side into the lagoon in a fast green channel with the cut edges of the sand standing clean and vertical on both sides. The green is out on the far piece of the spit with nothing behind it but more sand and then open sea, and there is a timber footbridge on piles to get you across. There are two different winds on this hole and they are rarely the same. Out on the spit you get the full sea breeze with nothing to stop it, but down in the breach the air funnels through the gap with the water, so a ball that drops into the cut can get shoved sideways at exactly the moment you most need it not to. The honest line is to favour the lagoon side, where a miss finds soft wet sand rather than surf, and to take enough club to be sure of carrying the far lip. Long is fine. Short is in the channel and halfway to the lagoon before you have finished watching it.
This hole is not real. Like every hole in the collection it was conjured with AI, a golf daydream rather than a course you can go and play. The thousands of courses in the Golf Handicapp app, however, are very real.
This one is make-believe. The thousands of courses in the app are not.
