165 yards, in the dark, to an island. The green sits out on its own in black water with four floodlight towers standing round it, and everything beyond the reach of those lamps simply stops existing. There is no far bank to judge against, no trees behind the flag, no horizon, nothing at all to tell you how far away it is. All you have is a lit shape floating in nothing and a number on a card. That is what makes it hard. Depth perception at night comes almost entirely from what sits behind and around your target, and here there is nothing behind it, so the green reads as closer than it is and most people come up short and wet. Trust the yardage over your eyes, take the club the number says rather than the club it looks like, and aim at the middle of the light. The water is dead flat and mirrors the whole island back at you, which is beautiful right up until your ball lands in it and you get to watch the reflection break.
This hole is not real. Like every hole in the collection it was conjured with AI, a golf daydream rather than a course you can go and play. The thousands of courses in the Golf Handicapp app, however, are very real.
