145 yards along the top of a moss canyon, and it is one of the prettiest walks in golf. The rock here is soft and rounded rather than jagged, and every fin and buttress of it is upholstered in deep emerald moss so thick it looks upholstered rather than grown, curving away from the tee in a series of green folds. A clear river runs along the floor a long way below, threading over pale gravel bars, and the mown ground simply follows the line the canyon already made, a ribbon of fairway laid along the rim with a low dry stone wall and a gravel path on its outer edge. The green sits out on a promontory where the canyon bends, with one pale bunker cut into its front. What makes it a proper hole rather than a viewpoint is the ground on the left, which falls away the whole way. There is no rough on that side, there is simply the canyon. The safe line is further right than instinct suggests, because the eye is drawn along the drop and the body tends to follow it. Pick a line at the right edge of the green, allow for the club you would take if there were no drop at all, and do not admire the view until the ball has landed.
This hole is not real. Like every hole in the collection it was conjured with AI, a golf daydream rather than a course you can go and play. The thousands of courses in the Golf Handicapp app, however, are very real.
