167 yards, straight out along a rocky headland to a green cut into the turf at the foot of a lighthouse, with the Atlantic breaking white on both sides of you. The only way out to it is the old keepers road, a strip of tarmac with a low sea wall, and there is no bail out at the end of it, just rock and kelp and then the sea. The wind here is the hole. It is always stronger at the green than it feels on the tee, because there is nothing in between to slow it down, and the flag will always be tucked somewhere that flirts with the water. Take the extra club, aim at the middle, and be delighted with a three.
This hole is not real. Like every hole in the collection it was conjured with AI, a golf daydream rather than a course you can go and play. The thousands of courses in the Golf Handicapp app, however, are very real.
This one is make-believe. The thousands of courses in the app are not.
