Ellesborough Golf Club

As a chalk downland course, Ellesborough enjoys excellent drainage, with good playing conditions throughout the seasons. The undulation of the land and the variety of holes allow for an interesting game where each round will bring different challenges. The greens are a strong feature of the course and have long held a reputation as some of the finest and most challenging in the area. Legend has it that all of the lines slope away from the Coombe Hill monument that stands guard over the course. Whilst that is a good yardstick, members will know that the subtleties of the Ellesborough greens will ensure that no putt can be predicted easily. This combination of varying holes, undulating fairways and subtle greens, provide an ever changing experience each time the course is played. Ellesborough Golf Course remains one to which members of many years standing continue to return, knowing that, golfing prowess aside, the challenges presented by the course will never be the same from round to round.
