Oakwood Course (The Manor House)

Oakwood is widely considered a thinking golfers course and should not be underestimated. It offers many testing holes due to the well placed ponds and bunkers that have become major features around the course. The 15th is a fine example of a hole which offers a good score but can also provide a triple bogey if not played in regulation. A par 4 at only 256yards the hole looks straight forward but with a large pond stretching 120yards back from the front of the green, the percentage shot is a mid iron from the tee with a short iron approach to the green - many a drive has met a watery grave! With flora and fauna producing much colour during the spring and summer months, coupled with the unspoiled views across to Dartmoor, Oakwood has matured into a very picturesque course. <strong>Signature Hole</strong> Oakwood 7th – 429 yards Par 4 – With the fairway sloping right to left, a drive down the right side should release to the centre of the fairway. On the approach to the green, golfers must be aware of a pond on the left side of the hole, balls hit to the right side of the green will release onto the putting surface.
